Centre for Cyber Security (CCS) was found by Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKCFES), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in January 2016. This centre aims to attract significant external research grants and encourage multidisciplinary collaborations. Besides, CCS was formed to demonstrate national leadership and international recognition for excellence in the area of cyber security.
Goal: To become a recognized centre of excellence for the field of cyber security internationally
Aim: To promote and lead research and development, technology transfer and training of experts in the area related to cyber security to enhance competitiveness of local industries in global market through the collaborations among the members and external parties
Objectives:
To date, CCS has 15 active members, including full and associate members. In line with the motto "With great ability comes great security: empowering the future of the digital world with responsible, secure, and privacy-preserving technologies," CCS members work hand-in-hand to achieve research excellence in publications and postgraduate supervision. On top of that, members also actively engage in multi-disciplinary projects and joint publications, forging close collaborative links with external partners. Additionally, some members offer professional consultancy and cybersecurity training, ensuring that knowledge and skills in cybersecurity remain practical, relevant, and impactful at all times.
With the efforts and continuous support from our members, we hope that CCS will become internationally recognized as a leading research centre contributing to a safer digital society and industry. On behalf of CCS, I express sincere gratitude to all who have contributed to our growth. Please feel free to contact me or any centre member to link up with our research projects, or explore potential collaboration opportunities. Thank you!
