December 2016: Prof. Chang Chin-Chen’s visit to UTAR Sg Long

On 28th December 2016, Prof. Chang Chin-Chen (chair professor from Feng Chia University, National Tsing Hua University, National Chung Cheng University) visited CCS and presented two talks. Prof. Chang is also known as the Taiwan’s Father of Cryptography. He is the fellow of IEEE and the fellow of IET since 1998.

In the first talk, Prof. Chang presented “Information Hiding Technology: Current Research and Future Trend”. He introduced different information hiding techniques to the audience, such as watermarking, visual cryptography, secret sharing, steganography and reversible data hiding. Meanwhile, in the second talk, Prof. Chang shared some tricks in writing a good paper and a grant proposal. Some important tricks include start writing earlier, proposal must have more value as compared to the budget requested, build social network and build a better academic resume.
